👾 Galaga – 30th Anniversary Developer Interview

「 because there were still so many Galaxian and King & Balloon pcbs circulating, we again used the Galaxian hardware, but this time to create another “space game”—and that turned out to be Galaga 」

“Millennials will never understand”

Meme photo:
a. a rotary dial phone
b. a dial TV with VHF antenna attached to it, or on the roof
c. a photo of kids playing on the streets
d. a photo of kids playing Atari
e. a photo of people sitting in a library and reading a lot of books

#Boomer: Kids these days…
#GenX: Spoiled brats.

Me: “If I may ask, what is the birth year range of Millennials?”

GenX: “1980 to 2000”
Boomer: “1980 to 2010”

Me: “Oh! I'm a Millennial then.

But, you see:

  1. I know how to use a rotary dial phone.

  2. Our first TV set was a black-and-white dial TV with VHF antenna that you can attach to it, and later we upgraded to an antenna you place on the roof.

  3. I used to play with the kids in our neighbourhood, on the streets, until our parents starts shouting “DINNER! COME HOME!”

  4. I've played Atari games.

  5. I've played table-top arcade machine games. You know, like #Galaga and #PacMan.

  6. In school, we used cartolinas and manila papers for our reports.

  7. My favourite place is the #Library in our school and read as many books as I was able to, and borrowed those I can not finish in one sitting. Yes, I know what a Library Card is! I consumed 2 to 4 Library Cards annually. (And we have to pay for the penalty fee if we failed to return it on or before the deadline.)

  8. Did you know my grandparents owned two sets of #encyclopedias? I've read each volume from cover to cover. It was my past time.

  9. Not to mention, we had a huge and very thick English dictionary, with small font. So imagine how many words there were there. I used to read it, too. Just randomly, not cover to cover (otherwise I would go insane).

  10. When me and friends/classmates set an appointment, we meant it. We even come early. And when we are late, we had to apologise endlessly, sometimes everyone else agrees the late should pay for our food as a penalty.

“Oh, by the way, Gen X is up to 1985. ;P ”
