It was such a revelation at the time.
I still remember my import shop getting the Japanese version in quickly after release and all of us being in awe of the attention to detail and overall cinematography.
It was on a whole other level.
@buru5 Just got done reading the piece, took about an hour and 20 minutes.
I enjoyed this foray into fictional story-telling, the reliance on footnotes and eclectic use of pop-culture, gaming, random trivia throughout reminded me of a novel I read last year called House of Leaves. Not sure if you're familiar.
The footnotes are a nice way to incorporate some of the dry, mundane explanation/analysis writing that I know you detest using in your prose. I didn't think it interrupted the flow much
@buru5 Either way, this was an engrossing read, and a reminder of how much work I have cut out to improve as a writer. Keep up the great work, man, would love to see more like this!
