I have no experience w/the East Indian caste system & I'm curious to know how serious a problem this is.
How often do people who have their roots in the East Indian caste system actually have the opportunity to discriminate against others based on their respective "castes" in CA?
How is this form of discrimination manifested? Is it something that happens just between upper/lower caste East Indian immigrants in CA (like between employers/employees} w/in the East Indian community or does it extend behyond that?
And, even if this form of discrimation is pervasive, how is it different from rich/upper class people disciminating against poor/lower class people?
And if "caste discrimination" is no different than "class discrimination" how can a prohibition against such acts of such discrimination be enforced?
Just seems like a legal conundrum to me because caste & class are unlike other prohibited categories, like gender, race/ethnicity, age &/or sexual preference.

@mastodonindians Of course, the savarna elites would find giving proportionate share to India's majority, who belong to the lower strata of Hindu caste system, as majoritarian and unconstitutional. When you uplift the downtrodden majority against the oppressing minority, it is called JUSTICE and not majoritarianism.
