Didn't even try to write - yes, I opened the file, changed a few words... fizzled out. sigh
Proofread 15 pages.
Played some Valheim. Scared by troll events (they killed our pigs!). Twink peeked at the Mountain, hoping to find obsidian (no luck), killed two wolves. Still has to fight Bonemass.
Feeling quite fragile emotionally. The world has become so unsafe lately, at least that's what it feels like.
Yes, I'm just as addicted as before. Mostly, I've been constructing a new base for the main game, and since we played together yesterday (yay!), I could tackle the construction of a new kitchen/bedroom hall/tower today. Even survived two Events (draugr / trolls).
It's not an architectural marvel, but I am rather proud of it.
And now I'll give Sun some much deserved attention.
I didn't write anything for Sun today. Which is okay, because I wrote a new Epilogue for South. (It didn't have one until today.)
Now, I'll share it in my next newsletter (which will be a while), but I can already tell you that'll tie in book #2 (West Flows) a lot better.
Wish me luck - I do need better sell-through. And it seems people don't realize that the series is up to 6 books by now (out of 9 that I have planned).
No writing, but I did accomplish quite a lot today.
Finally fixed the sign-up forms on my website and threw together a quick and dirty automation so new subscribers actually get their reader magnet and a couple of welcome emails. Very necessary admin stuff.
Also rebuilt a base in Valheim (yay, stone buildings!), cooked food and cleaned - and took a nap!
And I proofread 30 pages. The story is starting to grow on me.
Like every day, I opened Sun's file. And could not add a word. is trying hard not to hate herself
I did more proofreading, cooked a meal, celebrated SPFBO a little more and played Valheim. Alone.
Twink explored around the future battleground with the Swamp boss, then decided to raid another crypt. Still lugging out the ore. At least this crypt was fun, the rooms actually interconnected.
Today, I ran errands (getting something done that I have literally not managed to do in years), sent off two letters (again, something I haven't done in a while), and cooked a meal for myself.
I also commissioned the cover for Sun Burns - a huge step for me. I hope it'll help motivate me to finish the story... so hard right now!
Yes, I played a lot of Valheim. The Swamp is becoming a lot less scary now that I have better equipment.
Today, I proofread 20 pages, took good care of myself, even cooked a meal.
No writing, alas. No brain space for it. But I have a long weekend now, and I hope I can finally dig into Sun and finish his story.
Of course, there's Valheim. Need to get back into the Swamp, after avoiding that for a while. (It's so dark and icky there.) Saw my first sea serpent and got it killed by a troll. Hah!
Survived a dental appointment (wasn't bad), ran errands, edited 20 pages for a friend - and played a lot of Valheim.
I was rather frustrated with Twink when she couldn't find another crypt for iron ore. Hopped onto another continent, and voilá, two new crypts. Am still scraping iron out of the first one, it's HUGE. This feels like great progress.
Spent the day gaming. The world is so getting me down. Feels like greed and ego are winning, and those who could wield some power for good refuse to do so.
So I did some good in Valheim. And survived the first troll attack on our home with little damage. Still a scary moment.
I hope I'll feel better tomorrow. I know what I want to write.
Wrote a few words for Sun this morning, and he went and twisted away from the plans I had for him.
He will NOT escape fate. No, he won't. I will twist things back.
Also survived the office day, got groceries, cooked a meal (improvised, but turned out well) and died a lot in Valheim. Those Draugr aren't easy, especially the archers. (No pics. The Swamp is dark.)
Highly successful day: I finished a difficult admin task that involved API keys, automations and integrations. And I really hope it all works.
Didn't manage to write, but that's okay. The business end is also very important.
Yes, of course, I played Valheim. Steered my boat through the most harrowing, long, narrow passage yet. Froze for part of it. But now I have a ship on the southern end of my continent and that's great.
