This seems like a priority for fixing in @organicmaps - having found a destination, you can only plan a route to that point from your current location.
I suppose a workaround is to search for the start point first, then plan a route from there.
@nix thanks - so far I love the speed, offline functionality and detail of @organicmaps - I miss Google Street View and public transport integration. Signal not having SMS is a shame but not a big deal for me. App working well on iOS and fairly well on Mac desktop. #OrganicMaps#Signal#30dayfosschallenge
First week of #30DayFOSSChallenge is coming to an end. My blogpost will be a few days late because I'll be camping for the #eclipse but I'm excited by what's already happening.
Inspired by @nix I'm doing the #30dayFOSSChallenge - trying to increase my use and knowledge of free and open source software. Here's my first blogpost - let me know your thoughts:
Interested in #FOSS but haven't taken the time to explore it? Or familiar but wanting to dive deeper? Have no idea what that is, but are interested in decreasing your reliance on evil corporations?
If any of the above, check out the #30DayFOSSChallenge. In April I will be posting all about it, and encouraging others to join me. Hope you come along for the journey.
It seems like there's some resonance here, not just with #permacomputing and #retrocomputing but also with the #30DayFOSSChallenge. Going to use it as inspiration, and also perhaps join in next time.
"The 30 Day FOSS Challenge asks people to spend 30 days reducing their reliance on proprietary and nonfree software. The idea is to challenge yourself; depending on where you're starting this could be replacing a few apps, it could be finally making the switch from windows/mac to linux, or as far as relying exclusively on FOSS software for the entire challenge (which I'll call the 'vegan' approach here)." I am absolutely loving this from @nix - check it out here: https://nullarch.com/30DayFOSSChallenge.html#30DayFOSSChallenge#FOSS#OpenSource
My #30DayFOSSChallenge is officially over. It was a great experience diving deeper into #foss and thinking about it, especially trying to test the limits of how feasible going fully foss is for me, and talking to non-tech people about software freedom issues.
I will have a blog post up soon, but I'm still working through my thoughts.
@nix
It's been a bit of a struggle for me. Haven't used my Mac for the last week, MX Linux on a HP ZBook instead. Going to try to stay on the path. Thanks for the push! #30DayFOSSChallenge
