@mjausson I think the coating and pane sealing has dramatically improved in the last 10 years. Also, those are aluminum framed -- new ones are almost all vinyl. At the time, the vinyl windows had an issue with dropout during wildfires (heat would melt the vinyl and the windows would fail). The new ones I know have gotten significant design improvements...
@ai6yr Good to know. Some of the homes I'm looking at have double glazing. It sounds like I need to ask about the specs to find out if it's worth paying extra for that. Depending on how old they are, it may be better to buy a home with old single-pane windows and pay out of pocket to replace them.
Are your glass panes actual glass? In new mobile homes the part you see through is often plastic. It's fugly! All wavy and dark.
@mjausson Real glass. New windows are quite expensive ($$$). So much so we only replaced the ones which were leaking/single pane. Probably another $15K for us to replace the rest here, maybe more (not happening this year).
