sudaksis,

Was up late pouring last night pouring over organizing my #vinyl collection and just wanted to share the crown jewel of my treasures here. I'll never part with this one and am still so impressed with the quality of the box set. Maybe y'all would want to see more?

#SuperGiant

sudaksis,

Here's another treasure, also from Supergiant Games, their 10th anniversary orchestral soundtrack! :D

(remembered I had a photo saved already on my phone so here it is lol)

sudaksis,

This here is a first pressing of the standard clear record of the Transistor Soundtrack from way back when Supergiant started to get their music pressed. It's such a beautiful soundtrack and the vinyl release here is just as beautiful in person :3

sudaksis,

Just to round off my Supergiant records, here's the Bastion soundtrack on vinyl they pressed a few years ago too. Still a wonderful album for wonderful initial game

sudaksis,

If you know me at all, you know I am a massive fan. One of my earliest record buys was the HM2 soundtrack from iam8bit as one of their earliest productions. And much later from Laced Records did they press the HM1 soundtrack too. Both are highly influential to me as well as the gaming industry, and these records kind of signify that perfectly :blobfoxhappy:

sudaksis,

This even extends to the special box set of both soundtracks that Laced Records produced this year too. Such a cool set and a worthy addition to the horde of merch I've acquired over the years 💯

sudaksis,

Perhaps you've heard of a little game called Sayonara Wild Hearts that actually has voice lines from Queen Latifah. It also has an incredible score by Daniel Olsén that got a print by iam8bit some years ago. It's quite a stellar package and another treasure of my collection :blobfoxhappy:

sudaksis,

Having been a huge fan since the game first released, FTL: Faster Than Light has long been a favorite and that is partly due to the great soundtrack by Ben Prunty. I got the original vinyl release from iam8bit back in the day, but also picked up the rerelease they put out this year too because it was one of the more formative games that really got me into indie games and out of the rut I was in back in the Xbox 360 days

sudaksis,

Can't forget about the FTL: Advanced Edition music that was part of the DLC for the game!

sudaksis,

Another older #vinyl treasure (11 years ago already, wow) is the soundtrack to Indie Game the Movie, which was the seminal film that gave most people their first real look into what goes into indie game development. The film's soundtrack was made by Jim Guthrie and it perfectly captures the tone of each scene, but it is also enjoyable as an experience on its own like the rest of Jim's work.

sudaksis,

But this naturally leads into my adoration of Jim Guthrie and where I first came to know of his music. That was the soundtrack for Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, which was more of a game based around his music than the other way around (as said by the devs themselves; read "Who Needs What" by Andrew Hood for the full story). The music which most drastically influenced my taste and helped me break away from popular music that I grew up with to find what really fits me as an individual.

sudaksis,

And another classic I have on is that of Risk of Rain. Even now, I still prefer the game over its sequel, even if the soundtrack of the sequel is just more of everything that made the first one so amazing. Regardless, they had multiple reissues of the music because it was so popular, including a variant with the engineer on the cover. I got both like years apart and they're equally excellent.

sudaksis,

But yes, the Risk of Rain 2 soundtrack is absolutely incredible and the expansion DLC soundtrack is just as great. Besides Jim Guthrie, Chris Christodoulou's game music is what I probably have the most on #vinyl lol
