Ah, yes, it's looking in the same direction, but the atmosphere appears to be clearer in the new one. Also, did you notice that interesting hilltop at the center? That could be the proof for conspiracy theorists that it's all staged in a studio 😜
@65dBnoise that'd be an astonishing exercise in staging, making all features agree with the hirise views 😀
It caught my attention too yes, seems a bit of an outlier there, and pretty low-standing. I'm guessing it's the marked outcrop in your map? These perspectives can be rather confusing when there's so many layers in view...

Yes, that's probably the same peak in @NeV_T panorama. Your marked peak could be a good candidate, although it is ~2.5° off center to the right.
@65dBnoise this is how I interpret it. Do you have relief contour maps for this region to see if it really lays that low? It might be the camera fooling us, but I wouldn't be surprised the difference in apparent color shows that this is a remnant of an older layer/channel

Contours won't do, unless you plan to draw profile lines from the rover to your target. A visibility map is much better for what you want to see. So here you go:
Visibility from RMC 51.4014. The northern green line is where the camera was pointing, according to the image metadata, and the southern one is where that outcrop is. The yellow marked rock behind it, and the rest of marks match.
@65dBnoise absolutely, this was much better, thank you! The relief lines were more to ascertain that there's a deep depression around that "island", as it looks like from orbit.

This 3.5km long shot may be a good opportunity for me to double check a late addition to LA, that now includes the "toe in" 1.25° angle of the Mastcam-Z camera. Looks like I'm using the wrong sign for that value, and it shows ~2.5° shift to the wrong side.
@65dBnoise as you say, with clearer air, those buttes in the background look more interesting. Considering how much can be inferred on the delta history and timing from Kodiak alone, I'd love to see some supercams of those 2 over there

That north eastern part of Jezero looks like it's hosting tens if not hundreds of Kodiak looking buttes, but SUPERCAM time appears to be highly valued and limited to mostly RMI targets.
