Un-ironicly (I believe because I’ve seen the car he drives plastered in maga paraphernalia) there’s a nutter who has a “cancel cancel culture” in their yard. Also “choke the woke” but that one’s less irony and more just mean.
I have an account on Kbin and no, you don’t usually see downvotes. But I don’t see that as a bad thing actually. Your comments in this thread didn’t get any downvote, by the way.
To be more specific, kbin doesn't federate downvotes, or at least doesn't import downvotes from outside an instance. Not sure if it sends any downvotes generated here back out, but any downvotes you see here are from other kbin.social users
Maybe a bunch of irate tankie bots? Heck I dunno. It’s obviously just a silly riff on Comic Book Guy and not even spicy at that. But now (-77) there’s apparently 77 people who “disagree” with it?
Again, and not out of insecurity (thanks null) but just out of amusement that so many would care - lol. They’re probalby looking for VRYSRSSimpsonsshitposting.
Wow, seriously? He’s - always eating junk food and correcting people? That’s not - you’re saying 77 denizens of SIMPSONSshitposting are unaware of these characteristics of Comic Book Guy?
No, I’m sure they’re all aware, but mentioning cheese dust on fingers alone isn’t a characteristic that automatically brings him to mind. If that is cheese dust in the gif, I’m not familiar with a kind that’s eaten out of a pan. Something like “Better hurry that pedantry up, your breakfast burrito is congealing rapidly” might work.
Regardless, the person your comment was directed at didn’t seem to take it the wrong way, so no harm, no foul.
Okay so: I’m a Simpsons character and I’m going to lick cheese dust off my fingers and the correct someone - Who Am I?
Anyone? Beuller? No? Okay. I mean, I thought it was obvious. (Nacho cheese in the gif, or a Squishee, or a Krustyburger if that’s relevant but none were as funny as cheeto dust)
And yeah the OP was supposed to enjoy it, which I also thought they did, which is another reason it’s so bizarre to have almost 85 downvotes for it now. Worst. Comment thread. Ever.
(Uh, it’s not really the worst comment thread ever, that’s, yknow, also a Comic Book Guy, uh, thing. Just - in case anyone’s not - eh, whatever)
I hate when companies do this. I’m pretty damn liberal but I even consider this censorship. Just worried that someone might be offended.
I applaud the WB. Whenever you go watch looney toons you’ll get a nice pop up that says something along the lines of “This was a product of it’s time. The views expressed here are outdated and wrong. We feel to hide them would be to minimize the struggles people had. Please watch these and think of how far we have come as a society” or something.
And that’s how Michael Jackson’s episode or anything else should be handled. Put a notice up at the beginning, but to me it’s the same as book burning. We need to remember the good and the bad.
And iirc Michael Jackson’s accusers admitted it was fabricated anyway
I feel the same way. We all know when something’s old and should be more than capable of watching it through that lens.
I’m used to seeing warnings/censorship on newer media for older audiences who might find it uncomfortable, but censoring older media for newer audiences will always seem backwards to me.
All these company based coins are essentially grey market stocks, sell coins for free capital, coins gain value on perception of company value. Plus Elon can continue pumping and dumping. The distopian future of company owned currency sounds terrible.
This is definitely going to work and, moreover, Elon will eventually use it to perform a rug pull at a scale not seen since like the previous week maybe.
Also I told him to sell his bitcoin when it was at $44k and still plummeting cause it was going to drop below $20K (so rebuy then) and he didn’t do that either…
They gave me 3 months of premium for free. It’s just the same bad algorithm and suggestions and nothing works not even do not recommend just without ads.
I don’t know what happened but several months ago I noticed the algorithm got really really bad. As in I can’t even find videos I used to watch by typing in the exact title and it just recommends me tons of extremely irrelevant shit. It’s gotten to the point that it’s infuriating to me to use.
I search for something. Get 3 relevant videos, a dozen of already watched videos, one being the very last video I saw; and now a dozen of random “my suggestions” which should have stayed in their tab.
This is GOOGLE. THE SEARCH ENGINE. Fucking fix this shit. ITS YOUR ONE JOB.
Oh yeah and My suggestions? You can reload that bitch a dozen times it will never pull anything new just the same 20 videos even if you watched em.
Enshitification. Am I gonna have to use BING to search YouTube?!
I’ve done exactly this method of searching YouTube through Bing as well :'(
It used to be fine it’s only like the last 6 months or something I’ve noticed it be so damn bad so it’s definitely on purpose. My search results filled with ads too
oh it’s working exactly as intended. they’re just trying more and more overtly to push you to the content they’re paid to. cause you’re right, it’s Google, the ad company. this is what they do.
I just want something like Nebula to become really popular. Although something that keeps creeping into my head is aren’t the data centers a monopoly or oligopoly? What happens if one of those companies become really popular and GCP/Azure/AWS all say nah, we aren’t going to work with you. What then? Are there even smaller services that could handle even half the scale of something like youtube?
In my day, I used to sweep for mines when I was bored. It was difficult, and I would often have to guess when I saw large numbers. Anyway, if I got stuck, i would just start playing Solitaire!
