Portree in Skye was an unforgettable place. We stayed in one of the hotels that overlooked the lake (I think) and it was just amazing! It was small, quaint, friendly people. I would definitely go back there again!
If you want to get out in the country try the West coast - Skye is amazing and the landscape in the North West is like nothing else (the landscape around Wester Ross was used as, Peridea, the witches’ planet in Ahsoka and it does look like a weird alien world). If you aim for Ullapool you can’t go far wrong, unless you end up actually in Ullapool.
I have a friend with a brutal Stanley knife scar on his face. His story starts “when I was training to be a sailor in Glasgow, we went out on the piss in town and…”
Stand in loch ness with my feet and have a picture taken.
Go to one off those ’ only whisky ’ stores.
I would go see old castles
Walking around for the vieuws and hoping there is a bit off wind. Probably wil be singing a song on a higher point just for the romantical idee off doing so.
Find a pub tho listen to the dudes. And hope they speak scottisch. I like the sound.
As extra touristy stuff I would like to go to one off those tourist stores with kilts. Your name is Xs . O that sounds like the name off the mcXx there colors are these ones. Buy it?
And couse i probably would get there via Londen … Maybe a small stop in Gretna Green… :) hunny if you read this. Hint hint.
If you go to Glasgow I’d recommend visiting the burrell collection.
Also nearby is shaws bar. I can’t recommend this enough. It’s as authenticly scottish and friendly a place as you can ever hope to spend an evening. Definitely off the tourist trail.
I miss when authors, CEOs and such shut their mouths outside of things related to what they have any skill or intelligence in. Like, you wrote books about a boy fighting against wizards, shut up and stop proving how worthless you are outside of the books you’ve already written.
