The FTC is looking into McDonald’s ice cream machines, which are constantly broken due to a repair scam involving their ice cream machine supplier Taylor—who forbids third parties from repairing the machines.
@atomicpoet I never expected to hear about a right-to-repair issue involving McDonalds...
Or to side with McDonalds on this one.
But once you buy something, you shouldn't be compelled to let anyone force you to get repairs only from them. This is a bigger deal with John Deere and Apple, but I guess if it's an industrial ice cream machine too... :akkoshrug:
