I feel like anyone who thinks that the US empire is in good shape needs to just step foot into a CVS pharmacy.

Not only is the store itself literally falling apart, but everything is behind protective glass, people are desperately trying (and failing) to get the medications that they absolutely need to survive, the employees are vocal about the store being understaffed, the pharmacists are staring at you with dead eyes and saying things like, "Sorry, the insurance company won't cover the medication because <some ridiculously silly error on THEIR part, not yours>. There's nothing I can do."...

And it's not like it's some random chain that's going out of business or whatever. Financially, they're doing great: https://investors.cvshealth.com/investors/newsroom/press-release-details/2024/CVS-HEALTH-REPORTS-FOURTH-QUARTER-AND-FULL-YEAR-2023-RESULTS/default.aspx

Also, it's not a ghost town either; like, if it were just a random convenience store, who would CHOOSE to go there? But often people are stuck with whatever pharmacy their insurer wants them to go through. So it's a dumpster fire AND it's filled with customers at the same time.

@Andres4NY number go up though, and as long as they don't have to worry about competition, it's just going to keep getting worse (here I'm referring to recent labcorp experiences, so not just CVS.)
