@eal the real thing I meant was that I use yt-dlp to download individual tracks from youtube into my Downloads folder and then play them with mpg123

yeh, this is what that "beets" helps of. get 200G of music neatly sorted without having to do it manually

process now is like grab in flac, convert that to 500k vorbis for being weird reasons, files have metadata stripped in that step, beet recognises the tracks and albums and everything anyways, grabs metadata and coverart from musicbrainz and applies it all for you, creates neat directory substructure and puts files in
