NY Times: After the 2020 election, as some Trump supporters falsely claimed that Biden had stolen the office, many of them displayed a startling symbol outside their homes, on their cars and in online posts: an upside-down American flag. One of the homes flying an inverted flag during that time was the residence of SCOTUS Justice Alito. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/16/us/justice-alito-upside-down-flag.html?unlocked_article_code=1.sU0.dA3q.762sBv-t9c_6&smid=url-share

@w7voa

The Supreme Court is completely corrupt.
Everything will have to be rolled back or retried.

@w7voa an upside-down flag is a bigger middle finger to this country that burning a flag.
and a justice has done it while the wife of another funded an insurrection.

but god effin forbid democrats even start to discuss court expansion.

i'd read this article but why? i already know our SCOTUS is totally corrupt and does not care about the average american. they care about the Federalist agenda. and no one is doing a GD thing about it.

@rustoleumlove @w7voa It's also against the law. (Seldom enforced.) I guess you don't need to obey the law when you are the law.

@LilPecan @rustoleumlove @w7voa I’m aware of all the (ridiculous to me) laws, but what are the punishments … Pretty much none?

>> The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

>> The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.

To those laws, I give the big middle finger. Is this not America. land of free speech and expression?!

@peterbutler @rustoleumlove @w7voa I say nothing about agreeing or disagreeing with the law. The Supreme Court has given a pass to some people for breaking these laws, citing free speech. What I question is a SCOTUS justice flouting the law in such a public manner. But again, we've learned recently, the laws don't apply to them.

@LilPecan @peterbutler @w7voa yeah, for me this isn't so much about whether or not he broke flag code/law

& more about the v obvious bias & corruption thats pervaded our highest court for a v long time. the shadow docket stuff is no conspiracy theory either. they actively take up weird, politically motivated cases to overturn laws.

i'm in Illinois -- & i cant even get my D senator to hold public hearings about it. just even to educate the public about how things are. we're falling so far, fast

@rustoleumlove @LilPecan @w7voa Yes, exactly. Not the details of the flag offense, but what the message indicates about the deep corruption of the court(s)
