This is the first time in ages (other than in historical texts) that I've seen anybody unironically use the word "Oriental".

What year is this? The 1600's?

Are they American? Using "Oriental" as an adjective for something that isn't a person is kind of fine here.

It's when someone calls someone "an Oriental" that we have to get out the ol' Canceling Iron.

@dogfox no Dutch.

"Oriental" is the old Dutch way to describe East Asia and the specifically modern day Indonesia (or the old Dutch colonies).

Ah! That's... not the same.
For cultural purposes, we did not colonize East Asia, just fought wars there. Yes, in real life, we colonized the Philippines. But none of us know that and only slightly more of us know where the Philippines are.
