Left:
"I didn't talk to anyone about it."
"What about your wife? I assume you lived with her for many years. You never talked to her about it?"
"I never told her. What would I tell her - that I'm a murderer?"
Right:
"And some guys took flamethrowers and ran after people and incinerated them."
@fkamiah17 I watched the documentary that these veteran IDF interviews were a part of & it was horrifying to hear/see their complete lack of humanity towards Palestinians. I wasn't shocked because I already knew about decades long ethnic cleansing efforts by Israel govts, under several different leaders. I was only horrified by how those interviewed had no remorse for their cruel actions.
@msquebanh Oh really? Can you remember what it's called? I'd be interested in watching it.
I'm familiar with the Nakba but hadn't seen the clip before - it reminded me of Joshua Oppenheimer's documentary The Act of Killing.
@fkamiah17 I can't recall the title but will repost it again if I can dig it up. I'd posted a link to the doc film about 6 months ago. I can't remember if it was from a free documentary site or YouTube.
@msquebanh Thanks for prompting me to look it up! I've found a few places to watch it and added links to the OP. It feels more urgent than ever to watch it, and things like it, especially today.
@fkamiah17 Another doc film worth watching was mentioned in your article link - One Night In Tantura. Much lesser known to wider audiences due to lack of PR funds.

@fkamiah17 No need to feel embarrassed. There's many amazing documentaries that aren't given much PR/media coverage - hard to know about most of them, when you barely see anything written about them in media. I'm a big fan of documentary films so tend to dig around a lot to find more to watch.
@msquebanh Yes, I used to pay a lot more attention to documentaries than I do now, although I'm a big fan. I used to get most of my info about the lesser known ones from Kermode, but he's lost my respect recently.
@fkamiah17 That's horrifying: not that they did it - though it is. It's horrifying that they can discuss it so calmly absolutely 100% secure in the knowledge that they are protected from justice.
