I was listening to @shoptalkshow this morning and @davatron5000 shared a story about one live coding interview that just didn’t go well, and it was highly relatable to an experience I had too. I thought it was great that he shared it because it happens and it can be easy to feel like it’s a reflection of how you really are at work, but it’s often about something else entirely, and your next call might go great! Anyway, thanks Dave and congrats on the big new gig!
@scottjehl@shoptalkshow That sounded painful and relatable. I've always blanked in tests, day to day practical application I'm fine with but something about the standard academic process just never worked for me. So yeah, thanks for sharing @davatron5000
@scottjehl@shoptalkshow@davatron5000 oh I should give that a listen. Had a somewhat recent awful coding interview which in retrospect I’m glad I didn’t pass 😅

Same! interviewing is tough on both sides of the call but sometimes it really only speaks to how good you are in that particular interview situation on that day, working very differently from how you actually would in the role, plus the pressure of wanting it to work out!
