Totally, and I agree with the idea that we should be critical of the art we enjoy, and can enjoy art we're critical of.

But I struggle with the other idea: "separate the art from the artist" because, how does that even work? Art is such a personal thing, the artist is all through it. And if it was even possible to make art and not put any personal expression into it, would even be art?
