@iangriffin Wow, anyone in Ōtepoti is going to get such a great view of the eclipse - weather allowing. And so many places to get good views. I would head up to Mt Cargill but no doubt that would be very busy. Exciting times!

@iangriffin Followed a decade later by eclipses in 2035, 2037, 2038, and 2042. Could be quite a good time for budding astronomers

@iangriffin @williamthorpe As long as Met Service plays ball. I remember an eclipse from my high school days (so, the first half the 1980s time frame) which was a complete fizzler because of the sun being completely hidden by the traditional Invercargill rain clouds...
