How do you all manage to travel on European Sleeper or Nightjet? Every time I try to book a ticket it's at least 200€ one way. Where's the catch? #NightTrains

@mario booking well in advance, but also planning the trip so it saves a night at the hotel: you should always consider that you are saving a night at the hotel and subtract that from your overall costd

@mario The catch is that I accept I have to book months in advance and spend three times as much as I would by flying, and as a result I travel far less. 😬

However, the last night trains I took (Stockholm-Berlin and Berlin-Bruxelles) were only ~70 € one way each (6-berths compartments).

mario,

@nemobis how many months in advance though? The Brussels-Berlin night trains were several hundreds last time I checked two months in advance...

@mario Let's see... I booked my February tickets exactly 3 months in advance. That's low season though.

Last week they wrote that "TICKET SALES FOR AUTUMN 2024 ARE SCHEDULED TO OPEN EARLY APRIL" [sic].
