Investors file record number of #ClimateResolutions for North American companies
"A record 263 climate-related shareholder resolutions have been filed so far this year for annual meetings of North American companies, a new tally showed on Tuesday, with proponents tailoring their wording to gain support."
"Australia’s biggest superannuation fund has joined a protest vote against #WoodsideEnergy’s failure to do more to address the climate crisis, saying it has unanswered questions about the fossil fuel company’s plans.
Norway’s largest pension fund, #KLP, and Britain’s biggest asset manager, #LGIM, are among investors to disclose they will vote against Woodside’s climate report."
"Australian oil and gas giant #Woodside has been rocked by the biggest investor uprising ever seen against a major emitter’s approach to climate change as 58 per cent of its shareholders rejected the company’s decarbonisation plans as inadequate.
“The scale of this rejection is globally unprecedented.”
"By margins of more than 4-to-1, shareholders at Berkshire's annual meeting voted against two proposals that the company's insurance and energy operations disclose more about their efforts to address #ClimateChange including greenhouse gas #emissions.
They also turned down a proposal for more disclosure about efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace."
It's just about DISCLOSURE
(Why are they so scared of daylight)
"#Shell shareholders on Tuesday rejected a resolution filed by a group of investors urging the energy company to set tougher climate targets.
The meeting was disrupted several times by climate protesters chanting "Shell kills". #Climate protesters also held a demonstration outside the meeting."
" #Climate activists climbed up a building near #TotalEnergies' Paris headquarters on Friday to protest the oil major's climate strategy while others stormed the offices of Total investor #Amundi, denouncing its holding in the group.
The actions came ahead of annual general meetings being held at both companies on Friday, as climate groups condemn ongoing investment in oil and gas production."
