We’re rolling out a beta of our fediverse integration in a few countries, including the US. Starting today, people who are 18 or older with a public profile can opt into a test that lets you share to the fediverse. You won’t be able to see replies or follows from the fediverse yet, but you’ll be able to see the total number of likes from Threads and the fediverse. To turn on sharing to the fediverse, go to your Account Settings and tap on Fediverse sharing.
If you’re a user on another server in the fediverse, this means you can now follow Threads users who have opted into the beta and interact with their content.

@igisho@mosseri I think you can just search @threads.net on your Mastodon instance to get a list of users it knows about already. I’m sure they’ll keep popping in as more users on Mastodon follow more Threads users.
@Xepher_X@mosseri i am on really small instance, i allreaddy followed all 32 accounts from threads.net and at the moment i am just thinking if in some distant time all 130mil accounts threads has will be advertised on fedi, since for small instances it will definitelly be challenge. Overall just curious 🙂
@igisho@mosseri I think someone from your instance has to search for a Threads account for the first time before your instance “sees it”. Though I could be wrong.
A Japanese Mastodon server with many accounts cannot federation for Threads. Federation is a beta version, but do you specially restrict these during this period?
I'm the fourth most user "fedibird.com" administrator, but I'm very disappointed because I can't do it. Threads responds to "429 Too Many Requests" for a signed request to Threads. Please let me know if we have any problems to solve.

@mosseri@alex would be interesting to disable the bypass on their restrictions on poast and other fediverse servers to see if they've "fixed" it or if it's still present since they're going to start allowing normies to federate
@nephitejnf@alex@mosseri they blocked poast before they even started federating. its a badge of honor (also we are bypassing it by signing with a different domain)
