How it started: I wanted to render a checkmark beside bird names as as their links were visited.

How it's going: I'm deep in a CSS rabbit hole of state and pseudo-element interactions. Some properties update with :visited while most do not.

Overall on my bird website, I've been trying to use pseudo-elements for decoration, but in this case, I think I'll have to add a real element if I want the checkmarks.

@studiochris this might have something to do with how :visited has been...revisited over the years in terms of tracking/privacy

you have possibly already seen this while in your rabbit hole, but just in case: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Privacy_and_the_:visited_selector

@anniegreens Thanks. I hadn’t seen this yet, and it does explain a lot.
