Note that the interlocutory appeal does not stay the trial court proceedings. The trial court has full authority to proceed (and seems to plan to) as long as it does not undercut the order being appealed.
I’ll add that the appellate court could issue a stay, but for now, things keep moving.
As a legal geek side note, “interlocutory” means “while talking” or “during dialogue” so the nature of the appeal itself happens while we “keep talking” in the trial court.
