🎉 I posted for 29/30 days in a row on my micro blog. https://micro.webology.dev/archive/

I am not necessarily sold on the platform, but it did well enough (sans lack of image support) to get the job done.

My goal from here will be to port this back to my blog and to migrate my blog from static back to Django.

I'll probably do a write-up later or tomorrow on the rest of the wonderful @wigglework folks who also joined me for the last month.

@webology I'm also tempted to move my blog from Hugo to a Django hosted blog where I can experiment more, but I keep over thinking things XD

I like writing markdown in a local text editor, but that doesn't work as easily if I'm on my iPad and want to save it in Git.

I've thought about trying https://github.com/andrewgodwin/yamdl or figuring out if there's some kind of 'common' blog API that I could implement 🤔

@kfdm I think I'm a free afternoon away from moving mine.

yamdl is a nice tool. I have used python-frontmatter for so long, it has a few advantages if you haven't seen it before.

I mostly want to be able to sync from Obsidian (which would work on iOS/iPadOS) which is doable with an extension. Until I figure that out, I'll probably just use a python script and a django ninja api endpoint or two.

🎉 I am also happy that my last writing day was during one of my weekly writing group sessions that @treyhunner and @bhumi let me join a year ago. We have been doing this for over a year.

Please let me know if anyone else is interested in returning your writing tools to Django (or whatever platform)

I plan to spend some weeknights and lunch breaks fiddling with that over the next month or two.

I am happy to have a group to discuss it with and share discoveries with.

@webology I have this probably dumb idea to set up django locally as my authoring interface and having it output 11ty templates (mostly markdown files) for deployment. I'm not sure it makes any sense, but I kinda just think I could make it work so then i want to try.

And thank you for volunteering! 😉

What you describe is similar to a project I started with Django during the pandemic.

I had it mostly working, but I had nothing but time then. I am happy to share some notes if you hit a snag.
