It's disappointing that there's no really good firewall software for Windows. I feel like we had way more options 20 years ago than we do now.

@jperlow I mean yeah I have plenty of hardware firewalls, but there are plenty of use cases for a good host-based firewall.

@m8urnett @jperlow If you want a standalone Windows firewall, ZoneAlarm is still out there, and it's decent. A newer one I like is GlassWire. If you want something for your home or small business, Linux really is the only good platform. Check out ClearOS for a decent standalone firewall distro.

@sjvn Glasswire is good in some ways, but still not the kind of control you get with a linux firewall. The thing is that the Windows firewall has all those features, there's just no good way to get to them.
