over 15 years ago, tamás polgár (aka tomcat) wrote an incredible history of the demoscene called Freax. it even received a companion Art Book with some high quality prints of demos and ascii/ansi art

here he is, doing a fantastic 1.5h history of the demoscene for Assembly. so very glad the archivists at assembly kept all of the links live.

he moved to canada in 2016, and mentioned working on volume 2 of freax. anyone know if tamás made it over to mastodon?
