Is there a primer on self-hosted live streaming a podcast? I've searched in vain. I'm looking for a step by step basic guide. This link at Icecast isn't simple enough for me. https://icecast.org/docs/icecast-2.3.0/basic-setup.html
I understand traditional podcasting and live streaming using RTMP to services like YouTube. But I don't understand how to use software like Icecast and how to stream from my PC at home or via my Apache virtual server where I host my mp3s for my podcast while also recording using Audacity.
@DavidMarzalC@kevinb66 It sounds like from your mention of Icecast you're looking to stream audio. Owncast is for video, though of course, you could stream audio with a static image or something. Some use https://github.com/gabek/vadeo to restream their internet radio (Icecast) audio streams to video.
