The way in which the board went about this appeared sketchy and underhanded. The ease with which Altman countered the move and had them surrendering within hours made them also appear naive and incompetent.
But the back story reveals Altman to be yet another sociopathic tech company leader willing to endanger human civilization for power and glory.
