I miss the days when news outlets had journalists dedicated to specific topics.
"But about two and a half minutes into the flight, the two stages of the spacecraft broke apart. SpaceX shortly announced that it could not find a signal from the second stage, which it declared “lost”."
They didn't break apart - it was a clean separation of the booster. Then maybe 10 seconds later the booster exploded. The top stage continued on for 2.5 minutes headed toward Hawaii and they lost contact.
There's a massive missing story there.
Where is the upper stage? Where and when will it come down? Is anyone tracking it on radar? Is Space-X just going to leave an entire massive vehicle full of poisonous fuel to sink into the ocean? Are there implications if it crashed onto Mexico?
