The MOST INEXCUSABLE legacy admissions are the service academy slots for children of alumni, former officers. It's an inbreeding of the military corps, from being representative of the cross-section of America, to a cadre of the pre-dogmatically schooled.

And you, the taxpayer, are paying for it. Every penny. For the 'purification' of our military command structure.

I remember the 2000 election. It was brought up that George W Bush is an ivy league graduate. I remember Al Gore saying his GPA was likely a "Gentleman's C".

I don't know... rather than ban their policies, don't patronize them. If smart kids go to other schools, maybe the staff will follow and other (often cheaper) colleges can benefit.
