Writer hive mind: I have a character (young man, mid 20s) whose means of expression is primarily physical. He needs a hobby besides pranks, rough housing and chasing around with his brothers (199 & 243 year old teenage boys. They're vampires. He's not.)
Art seems ideal but there's a reason to not use that if I can find something else.
He and his brothers have a band. Their philosophy of music does not involve practicing.
Need something that is just his. He's not telling me who he is yet.
If that's an "invitation" for a suggestion; maybe a #BioChemist...? Something completely unrelated to the "band" but also entirely "related" to his brothers' #Vampiric-disposition...
@emmaaum carpentry, a horse/cow/goat/iguana/eagle that he looks after, blacksmithing, beekeeping, weaving/making clothes, tending an orchard of apple trees and brewing cider, tending flowers and making perfume, building ships-in-bottles?
@mothninja ooo ships in bottles is interesting, except i'd have to make it odder. there's already too much chaos to add a pet :) :)
i have considered giving him a woodworking shop but haven't figured out how to incorporate that into the rest.
making perfume could work if it involves things blowing up accidentally on a regular basis.
there's a fire breathing imp who chars dinner and sets bedsheets and curtains on fire. it's a wee bit chaotic in the household.
@sheepnik It's set entirely in their house and back garden. But a mountain bike in the background could work, with some returning from a ride. Hadn't thought in that direction. 🤔
@sheepnik i wrote in a mountain biking reference but two of them are vampires and 200+ year old teenage boys are not afraid of death or bodily injury. there's no way the mortal one will be the only mountain bike fanatic.
