@XOrgFoundation X for two reasons: desktops that haven't been ported over and I can't figure out in Wayland how to rebind caps lock to enter (becauae my.laptop's enter key doesn't have a switch) like I can with X. I trued what should have been the way to do it in dconf and it didn't work.

Keyboard and mouse sharing apps Barrier and Synergy are not working with Wayland yet. For some (me included) this is a dealbreaker for Wayland. Since I also stand strongly against picketing, I don't know how to express my opposition to Wayland.
@XOrgFoundation At the minute, it feels like X11 is the only option. Wayland shows most windows as a garbled bunch of pixels if anything at all 😩 p.s. this isn't an invitation to problem solve/fix Wayland on my computer, although I'm open to offering information if a Wayland developer wants it to help improve things.

What is the question? What I am currently using? What I want to be using? What I would be using if it did not break things I depend on?
Wayland has some nice features but it’s not really ready yet and so many apps still don’t work.
I’m sure in the future Wayland will be awesome, but for now X11 just works and Wayland doesn’t.
(Also tho it seems like wayland is made to be annoying by design)
