@film_girl I’m going to be remoting into my Mac Studio soon to update it, so I can test my mission critical software to know whether I can also update my MacBook Air.
I’m an extremely eager nerd who is also a bit paranoid about my podcast workflow falling apart.
@film_girl ❤️ I am going to make a calendar block for playing older PS4 games, because #PS4 is now a #retrogaming console now that #PS5 is out right? :)
@film_girl You know the other kind of nerd, right? Sitting here at work on my windows laptop but using Screens on my iPad to remote into my Mac Studio to run an update…
@film_girl all of them? I'm wondering what I should make the final MacOS version on my 2020 Intel iMac as I doubt that they have been really focused on that generation since they went all Apple Silicon.
It's main role is as a dev machine, so emulation of Linux servers helps.
@KevinMarks yah same. I love my 2020 Intel iMac tho. That i9 and 128GB of RAM still performs. But yeah I’m updating it to Sonoma too. I can always downgrade.
@film_girl OK, you can be my canary this time. I am updating my EC2 images to Rocky 8 from Centos 7 soon, and was hoping not to change too many other variables
@film_girl Honesty, mostly writing, so I just bought an updated Scrivener license. But I’m going to be using it for podcasting, maybe some light video editing. And probably Baldur’s Gate 3.
@film_girl That's ridiculous. That's like if someone waited for Windows 8.1 to be released and stayed up on release night to install it on their 8 PCs/tablets and 1 Windows Phone just to take a "Windows 8.1" picture with all the devices in it.
