The world record for fastest accelerating car has been broken by a group of students at ETH Zürich/Lucerne University.
The record-breaking electric car weighs 140 kg and went from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 0.956 seconds, over only 12.3 m of pavement.
Their secret appears to be a fan design that sucked the car down to the pavement, allowing them to put down power without waiting for aero to become effective.
