One of the things that drew me to this particular instance is the fact that #alt text is mentioned in the rules, and I'm seeing the effect of it even in my short time here. So much #game related content tends to go right by me because it's screenshots, or memes based on some kind of visual thing that isn't described and literally every image I have seen so far has good, well-written alt text. It's seriously appreciated, all of you #thanks#gratitude
@zersiax Previous to joining Mastodon, I didn’t really care about alt text and didn’t understand the impact it has not writing it. Now I try to ensure I write alt text on every photo I upload, however I think I can still do better at my image explanations.
@EighthLayer it can be a bit of an acquired skill. I believe there's also a hashtag you can use to ask somebody else to alt your picture for you but I forget what it is right now :)
