@show I'm trying to purchase solar (again) and I'm finding the same issues you discussed. Microinverters rule the market because they remove a single point of failure, but optimizers can provide similar benefits and keep your power DC. This can make battery storage more efficient. However if you want to use a Span Panel then Power Walls are your friend but they are AC batteries. We're starting to see bidirectional DC EV chargers which add another wrinkle.
