I didn’t realize this until I watched the #MKBHD review but the new Beats headphones don’t have a branded Apple wireless chip in them. No H1, W1, etc. that all of the recent headphones have had. Evidently they can still fast pair and sync to iCloud but not switch automatically. Super weird. https://youtu.be/IJm3UHjs8-Y

@developerjustin I love that they support lossless audio (over USB C). If I hadn’t purchased the Beats Studio 3 last year, I’d definitely get them.

@Craktok I was surprised to see that. I think those are the only true lossless product Apple makes now, aren’t they? The rest will let you enable it but they’re all downsampled for Bluetooth. The AirPods Max look weirder every day!

@developerjustin yep. I don’t think the current Bluetooth implementation on any of the Beats/AirPods can support the throughput required for lossless audio, which is why it requires the new Pro to be connected via USB C. The AirPod Max are fine when you consider that NO Apple headphones supported lossless audio until 1 week ago. They will be updated soon.
