billyanders,

Honest question for folks...

Can you be an ally to underserved, minority, oppressed groups, while voting for politicians, parties, and policies, that you know hurt them?

I want all the smoke💨, both sides, and would especially like to hear from those that present themselves as "allies" (eg, attending events at work, zoom backgrounds, yard signs, t-shirts,...), but for their own reasons, vote counter to the people they are allies to... and why it's okay?

blacktraffic,

@billyanders how can you say you support X and then take actions to make things worse? (I’m in UK but our “conservatives” are more reactionary than conservative these days - they will generally oppose any good idea)

billyanders,

@blacktraffic Towards what goal are "conservatives" aspiring in the UK? Honestly, beyond what seems to be anti- 'those other people', it is unclear to me of US conservatives.

blacktraffic,

@billyanders they’ve lost the next election on living costs, so they seem to be trying to out-right-wing everything and everyone.
