What boring #programming tasks do you think most developers take for granted?

For example, I think querying a database table and displaying it in a table is "boring" but valuable to your users.

@khalidabuhakmeh detailed error messages about what exactly when wrong and why.
Like instead of "Invalid Parameter" you get "Parameter X has value 7, which is out of acceptable range [0; 5]".

@aurisc4 Yes, that’s a good one. Logging specifically and common mistakes.

livingcoder,

@khalidabuhakmeh When working with a large set of page inputs, saving an object's details back to the database: having one button for "Save" (always available and visible, so that you can save your work and return later) and another for "Save and Close" (closing the popup as well).
Having an understandable and uncomplicated "draft/live" system is not trivial.
