I believe he’s trying to get out of it by saying the most outrageous things possible. Only it resonates with the crazies (apparently there are a lot more of them than most people believe) and here we are. If he gets back in office, he’ll be criticized for not following through, so these ideas become policy because he’s an incompetent, self serving weak ass man and the lowest form of human ego serving possible.
