"Hands Across the Divide" is a sculpture in Derry, Northern Ireland. The statue was created by Maurice Hatton, and erected in 1992. It symbolizes reconciliation between both sides of the political divide during the so called "Troubles" in NI.

@thepoliticalcat Yes, although my friends in Sligo told me that they don't care when exactly this will be as long as everyone can live in peace, visit each other etc.
@thepoliticalcat 🙄 Poor man! And yes, I also think that it's time for the Irish to get rid of them. It's neither right anymore nor needed and belongs to the history books. But the Irish must find their own peaceful way out of it. I'm curious how they'll do it.
