What part of Lahore are you in? I’m trying to find out why my sister-in-law isn’t mentioning anything at all about the floods, and I’m (kinda) hoping it’s that she doesn’t want to worry anyone (and not that she just doesn’t care because maybe it’s not happening to her part of the city 😑😳).
@SiR_GameZaloT Yes, my hubby just talked to my SIL. They were spared in their part of the city. Her husband’s clinic was flooded, though, in a different part.
I’m upset that it hasn’t been making the news like it should. Unless it’s political unrest or sectarian violence, Pakistan isn’t treated as newsworthy. 😑
@SiR_GameZaloT i am so sorry Jibreel you are going through all this, really bad. And yes, you are unfortunately right, there is a very much a tendency to normalise #ClimateCrisis disasters in the Global South - to see them as part of an overall “I guess things are worse over there”. Which is terrible in and of itself.
