Fellow Blenderheads, if you'd like to have a go at SDF modeling, a new add-on is calling for beta testers. According to the add-on developer, it works in Blender for macOS as well. 👍

Is Modo Mesh Fusion mentioned on those threads?

Because it has a unique approach of fuse sub division meshes, and alter the width line where meshes join. All done with nodes.

@DBG3D Mesh Fusion isn't mentioned, because although it's cool, it's mesh-based, while SDF works in a very different way.

SDF is based on volumetric math functions. You could think of it as a procedural 3D texture that’s translated to a 3D model shape via a voxel-like grid, and is only meshed if you want to export it to a polygonal 3D format. No worries about topology / mesh structure, and rendering is a less taxing process compared to polygon-based renderers.
