@buerviper Random battles + lack of saves + long uninspired dungeons + unbalanced battles + equipment management for 2nd row characters + slow regular battles + a bunch of other QoL misses… I just doesn’t sound remotely enjoyable.
I’m actually probably bailing on Octopath Traveler 2 for similar reasons. The random battles + tavern-only party management + short empty “dungeons” + jarringly fractured stories is making for a not-fun time.
@renwillis Have you played any game in the Suikoden series? If you enjoyed them, I can only recommend Eiyuden. I'm only 10 hours in, but there's only been one way too long dungeon, everything else was fine. It definitely has a lot of heart!
@buerviper No I haven’t played them. I think I’m good. I got plenty in the backlog and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on pre-order. Plenty to play for much cheaper to boot.
I don’t see me going here. I don’t have much nostalgia with JRPGs since I never played them when I was younger. I appreciate modern QoLs!
@renwillis ah alright! I can just say that I don't really agree with all of them, and at least my experience with the original SMT V was a lot more unpleasant than with Eiyuden - but everybody has a different taste. Maybe you'll give it a shot when it's on sale at some point☺️
