I never used Instagram so I am probably a tiny minority of users who don't have a reference point. I appreciate highlighting some of the things you are doing differently. Love collections and portfolio!
@dansup@pixelfed All I want is to be able to import my photos from Instagram and have them be set as public or be able to change the visibility manually.

You'll be able to share photos from other apps to a Pixelfed Collection with a single tap, and we're going to allow users to add anything (links, posts, accounts, websites) as a collection item which really opens up a lot of possibilities!
Safe to say Collections are going to be a huge part of our 2024 journey ✨
@dansup@pixelfed I'd definitely love to see exif data like camera model, lens, speed, etc. It can be very instructive when you want to figure out how to take a similar type of shot.
@yogthos@pixelfed Yes, I also want to give users the ability to control Exif visibility in the sense they can search by model, lens, speed, etc if it's public or just display it, or make it only visible to you. More granular controls are the goal, with autocomplete suggestions and mass editing support too!
Photogs like yourself know exactly what you want to share, and we need to better support advanced users like yourself.
