The invaders, the colonizers, the self styled Israeli's have stolen the land they occupy. It is not theirs, they are thief's & murderer's. The world has turned a blind eye to Palestine, to Arabs, to brown people, its racist, imperialist, western hegemonic ideology.
It may take years, perhaps even decades, but one day Palestine will be free.

There is the actual reactionary theocratic militant group (where we might still want to distinguish between the leadership and the foot soldier in terms of judging their morals and motivations), there is the broader organization/movement with its social services that has hundreds of thousands of members, incl. doctors, etc., and there is the “Hamas” as a stand-in for the idea of active resistance rather than the specific organisation. I don't think you’re all talking about the same thing or that you actually agree as much as it looks.

I know. They are. They are the army though, not a government. They need diplomatic leaders as well. So maybe Hamas rebrands— little less crazy border killing sprees, little more kissing babies on campaign trails— we are already trying to help
What happened on October 7th was horrific and civilians died and children were captured and there is no excuse for hurting civilians on either side.
I do understand that under the U.N. Charter an occupied people have the right to an armed uprising but I will never agree with the killing or kidnapping of innocents, ever.
@WahbAllat I do understand and I want more than anything for Palestine to be liberated. The methods liberation takes will have to appeal to the West because they have all the nukes (and I say that as a Canadian, in a country without any nukes— so compromise is our middle name).
We don't care to appeal to the West, and we are not afraid of your nukes. We witnessed the West lose multiple times, in the Korean peninsula, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. We are confident that sooner or later, Palestine will be free and will be liberated without any help from the West.
It seems that you and many in the West seem to have been misled. We are merely telling you to hold your governments responsible, that's it. We are not looking up to you.
You have to appeal to the west to gain legitimacy. You have to appeal to the west because Arab countries are not coming to your rescue, never have, never will. Saudi Arabia’s slaughter of Syrians should have settled that once and for all.

It is supremacist to suggest that only the west can grant Palestinians legitimacy when it is the west that created and maintained the occupation and apartheid.

That’s not necessarily true. If Palestinians were represented by a council of their choosing I imagine negotiations could go forward.
I understand the PLO has lost all legitimacy but after October 7th, they will not negotiate with Hamas for territorial control, that is obvious to everyone.
They won’t choose Hamas if they want liberation, they know they are not a way forward. And Hamas is kidding itself if it thinks after under their rule, and after 20k people died that they would be chosen by the people. It is time for the people pf Palestine to lead.
You are awfully misguided and propagandized. They will choose Hamas because only through armed resistance can Palestine be freed. Look at what the peace talks led to in the West Bank.
FYI, the French killed 45,000 Algerians in one day. Algeria was still liberated.

@Mary625@LALegault You can't convince people that raping and killing children isn't ok. By some professional estimates, about a third of the world has psychopathic traits and in the US its much higher and where I live its much higher still.
