@OutofPrintArchive YES! I picked this up the other day too along with Puzzle Bobble Everywhere. Both are currently still sealed while I continue to devote all my free time to Zelda haha.
@OutofPrintArchive To be honest I'm always surprised whenever something 3d works well in mobile, especially in browser. Like technically it's been achieved in past several years but I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that mobiles of today are as strong as PCs several years ago, even stronger :D
@amasuri
I played a ton of mobile games early on, when the iPod touch was relatively new and the massive iOS indie boom happened.
But losing a ton of games when they went 64 bit, I think was what made me stop buying iOS games.
So I’m out of the loop completely.
If I do play something, it’s Chuzzle, Zookeeper or Williams Pinball.
And it doesn’t help that I’ve been playing a ton of real Game Boy games as of late with the weather being what it is.
@OutofPrintArchive Oh, iPod touch! I I used to have one of those! Sometimes I kind of miss skeuomorphism, though it's been criticized a lot & modern GUIs are more usable :D
Yeah, I also been playing a lot of retro games lately. Mainly psx, because that's what I grew up with! Believe it or not, it's somehow still functioning after all these years, though load times became much bigger (we're really spoiled by emulators! saving can take forever)
Believe it or not, the PSone is hands down still my favourite Sony console.
Nothing comes close despite how I love the PSP and especially the Vita.
So many arcade style releases...
It had some incredible import only games!
Raiden DX, Ore no Ryouri, Umihara Kawase Shun, Zanac X Zanac, Kyuiin, Rakugaki Showdown, Harmful Park.
Not to mention some of the best WipEout games! 🥰
Yup, you're right about the import games! When I play these, I feel like I finally found the reason why I've been learning Japanese all that time :D
On psx I had a lot of fun with Front Mission 2 lately. The series is relatively well known, but this particular game is pretty low-ground. There's a good unofficial English patch buuuut I completed it in JP anyway! The story gets pretty good and gameplay-wise it's a mix between FM1 and more modern ones (which makes sense!)
@amasuri
I don't know what it is, but the style there does things to my brain. 😅
It's something like there being just enough detail to set the scene and then let your mind fill in all the blanks, creating something even better than what's objectively on screen. 😁
It's been so long since I played a Front Mission game, the last one was the DS rerelease of the original Super Famicom one. Sadly, it only released in the US at the time.
@mezz
Sadly, I have a full workday yet ahead of me, but I can't wait to get back home late at night and hopefully not be too tired to play a bit.
My memory tells me that We Love Katamari was my absolute favourite in the series, so I can't wait to find out if that remains the case after all these years.
So glad that they actually brought this series back.
I hope Namco ends up porting all of them to modern systems.
We need more games like this.
@OutofPrintArchive The PC remaster of Damacy was the first time I've tried the series, because a friend of mine happened to own it.
It's such a simple game at its core, but the lovably goofy vibes and music really make it something special. It came to me at a time where games were just kinda stressing me out, so I really needed it.
@mezz Oh, it's the perfect game for that.
Just a little ball of bliss. 😊
When I get like that, I often run towards musou games and play them for days or even weeks on end.
I don't know what it is about them, but they are just so easy to play and very relaxing to me.
