Standing with #Israel would mean working cooperatively with the UN to find sustainable solutions and then helping to implement them. The US doesn't do that. We provide cover for Israel in the UNSC. The rest of the world has been demanding that Israel better accommodate Palestinian concerns for decades. Instead of debating what's justified today or not, recognize that the world knows how to best lessen future violence and that path is not being taken. Demand that it happens today. #gaza#hamas
@wjmaggos I’m having trouble that at this point, being nice to the people who are taking hostages and bombing civilians is the right course of action, no matter whose fault the conflict is.
The only solution here is a one state solution. Hopefully somebody wins, and soon, so that the war can be over and the bloodshed can end.
my ask is not to be nice to violent people, it's to support a US foreign policy that helps the world collectively solve these problems early on. like how we did nothing to support the Minsk agreements re Ukraine when that could have prevented the war. or how we helped flip the govt there before that. with Israel, maybe it's one state or two with shared access to Jerusalem and holy sites. let the world decide, instead of us vetoing etc. but conservatives call this globalism...
