@thomasfuchs I mean, for years Terry Wogan would try not to reveal how drunk he was and spend the evening remarking on the politics, as he commentated for the BBC. It has always been nakedly political, as seen by who votes for who.
@thomasfuchs my thoughts exactly. They thought they could remain neutral, but by allowing a country actively committing genocide, they made a political choice.
@thomasfuchs I regret that my opinion is probably biased because I'm unfortunately an American. That said, Eurovision just seems like yet another thing that's supposed to be about peace and cooperation but has a horrifyingly dark side to it, like the Olympics or the World Cup.
@ln0@thomasfuchs I'm curious how many points Israel is going to get. It's never about the song, but it has always been political. Neighbours always give points to each other, countries in trouble get sympathy points. I wonder how it's going to be now.
